No Bad Mind
Today’s blog is about peace of mind. As I’ve gotten older, my tolerance for rubbish has decreased! I seek out peace as often as I can. I try not to give energy to anything mentally draining, though as an overthinker that can be hard. The paintings below are part of my playful series. Boxed in
Confinement is one of my favourite artworks. I created it for a charity exhibition where it had to be postcard-sized. The small format felt restrictive, so I leaned into that to express the idea of feeling boxed in. I’m sure we’ve all felt that at some point - a job you want to leave but you stay for security; a relationship that’s run its course but you’re tied to it financially or emotionally. Basically any situation where you feel trapped and can’t get out quickly enough.

Let's Play!
Some paintings can’t wait! They have to happen fast, before the feeling fades. Side Eye was the first portrait in my playful art series, a quick, expressive outlet that captures those impulsive, creative moments. At other times, I enjoy slow, careful painting with lots of reworking and layers of paint, but for this project, spontaneity was the priority.
